Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
The story begins in 1629 Japan, during the period of Tadanaga Tokugawa's rule in Edo era. Tadanaga Tokugawa's rule was marked with many acts of barbarity on his part.
Tadanaga Tokugawa eventually died by what appeared to be ritualized seppuku but was actually an execution. He was placed in typical seppuku position, however instead of a sword laid in front of him a paper fan was placed instead. The beheader then decapitated him as normal.
Tadanaga Tokugawa slaughtered over one-thousand chimps on a mountain on which hunting was expressly forbidden and, a one point, disemboweled a pregnant woman alive.
The only corroborated act of brutality of Tadanaga Tokugawa were found in his private diary. This act was the staging of a tournament amongst samurai -- not an unheard of display at the time -- but, rather than using bokken, as was customary in such a performance, the samurai competed with real daishō. Such an event was considered in extremely poor taste, as samurai were reared to always obey their commander, and that dying under a master's order was the most honorable thing possible in life.
Because of their unquestioning loyalty, many leaders thought to waste their lives needlessly in a tournament solely for one man's sadism was unforgivably cruel. The only way to directly outcry to the shogun, however, meant to commit seppuku in protest, which two leaders did. Tokugawa, however, continued the tournament regardless.
The story at large is based around the first match of said tournament, between Fujiki Gennosuke and his opponent, Irako Seigen.
Fujiki, at the start of the tournament, is already one-armed. During a physical examination, the medical consultant discovers that Fujiki has abnormally developed back muscles, which should, theoretically, compensate for his lack of a left arm. Irako makes his entrance with the aid of Iku, a female companion, as Irako is not only blinded from a slash to the eyes years ago, but also his foot is cloven in half almost to the ball of his heel, resulting in his walking with a limp. At the start of the match, Irako adopts a most peculiar stance, planting his sword between his primary and secondary toes of his left foot, gripping it between his toes like a vice-grip, and bending his upper body to the side. The said stance is dubbed "Mumyō Sakanagare," which Iku notes as being Irako's "stance of certain victory."
The story then backtracks seven years, with Fujiki at the Kogan Ryuu kenjutsu dojo as assistant master along with Ushimata Gonzaemon. Irako makes his bold entrance in the dojo, wishing to seek a match with the headmaster. Such an act (Dojo Yaburi) was typically seen as something only ne'er-do-wells practiced, thus Irako is met with some aggression on the student's parts. However, Gonzaemon silences the uproar and informs Irako that to face the head of dojo, Irako must first face the two senior disciples (Gonzaemon himself and Fujiki). Irako accepts and quickly disables Fujiki, using an esoteric martial art focusing on pressure points in the body, which severely injures Fujiki's right index and middle fingers. Gonzaemon next challenges Irako, and uses a bulky wooden sword. Gonzaemon succeeds in cutting various bits of clothing and hair, and manages to cut deeply into Irako's ear, but Irako leaps tremendous heights up into the wooden rafters of the dojo's ceiling.

About Fate/Stay Night
"About Fate/Stay Night"
Guess who contributed this great series? Yup, once again it's Mina.
The Fate/stay night anime series aired between January 6, 2006 and June 16, 2006, containing 24 episodes. It is an adaptation of the Fate/stay night visual novel, featuring content from all of the available scenarios in the original game's release. The general direction of the anime borrows heavily from the Fate scenario, with select segments from Unlimited Blade Works included as filler while only a couple nods are given toward the Heaven's Feel option. Elements from Fate/hollow ataraxia not directly impacting the plot were included, but sparingly. Kenji Kawai composed the original music for the series, also remixing three symphonic themes from the Fate/stay night visual novel for use in the anime; they are "Yakusoku Sareta Shouri No Tsurugi", "Emiya", and "This Illusion", the latter of which was retitled "disillusion".

Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
Fate/stay night chronicles a two-week period in the liThrough their conversation, Shirō learns of his foster father's failed life ambition to become a "Hero of Justice" (Seigi no Mikata), a guardian of mankind who could protect the weak and innocent. Touched by Kiritsugu's conviction, Shirō affirms to his foster father that he intends to devote his life to achieving that distant ideal, much to Kiritsugu's chagrin. To do this, Shirō pleads with a begrudging Kiritsugu to teach him sorcery (Majutsu); but Shirō proves to be talentless in almost all the fundamental sorcerous disciplines.
Kiritsugu warns his son that the life of a sorcerer is one that leads to destruction, but if he is truly set on benefiting people, he should apply his knowledge in secret and hone his craft in private. After Kiritsugu dies, Shirō becomes frustrated with his progress, for he feels inadequate about his good deeds through sorcery and is unsure of how to orient his future to contribute more.
Unknown to Shirō, Fuyuki City is the setting for a secret and violent war among competing magi. For the past two centuries, seven sorcerers have gathered and engage in a Battle Royale, each gambling his or her own life to obtain the Holy Grail, a legendary chalice capable of granting wishes. The past four Holy Grail Wars have typically occurred every sixty years, with the most recent concluding a decade ago, but the fifth war has eerily started prematurely.
Each of the sorcerers, better known as Masters, are aided by one of the seven summoned spiritual familiars known as Servants, who are the reincarnations of legendary souls from all across time. These resurrected Epic Spirits (Eirei), possess superhuman characteristics and wield powerful artifacts or abilities called Noble Phantasms (Hōgu). A Noble Phantasm's hidden abilities may be released by invoking its true name, but casual brandishing of a Noble Phantasm is best avoided, for symbolic Noble Phantasms usually belie a Servant's identity, diminishing that Servant's competitive advantage. Specific legends may be summoned with the aid of catalysts, which are artifacts, ideas, or experiences similar or of value to the desired Servant. Only one Servant can be summoned in each war from one of seven classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Rider, Assassin, and Caster.
The Holy Grail is a spiritual artifact, so only astral entities, such as Servants, are capable of touching it; this restriction forces Master and Servant to cooperate with each other against rival pairs, even if a situation entails fighting to the death. Masters control Servants with three Command Mantra (Reiju), which are crystallized miracles issued by the Holy Grail that manifest on a Master's hand. When activated, Command Mantra permit a Servant to accomplish an incredible feat, or alternatively provide Masters with the authority to issue an irrevocable and absolute order to a Servant. In the event of a Master's demise, a Servant may choose to bind him or herself to another Master; if a Servant is slain, a Master may ally with a wayward Servant or pursue sanctuary with the Holy Grail War's impartial supervisor, who is traditionally a delegate of the Roman Catholic Church.
After cleaning his school's kyūdō (archery) dojo late one night, Shirō stumbles upon two Servants, Archer and Lancer, battling in the school courtyard. To avoid compromising the war's secrecy, Lancer hunts down and pierces Shirō in the heart with a spear. For an unknown reason, Shirō's classmate, Rin Tōsaka, uses an heirloom filled with concentrated magic, Mana (Maryoku), to resuscitate him. Shaken and dazed, Shirō goes back to his home, but is again attacked by Lancer. Shirō weakly defends himself against Lancer but is soon overwhelmed by the powerful Servant's attack. After the battle prelonged, Shiro falls into his storage room. Cornered, Shirō prepares for the worst; but before Lancer can inflict another fatal blow, a young woman outfitted in alabaster armor blocks Lancer's spear. She drove Lancer away from Shirou. She introduces herself to Shirō as Saber, and greets him with the words:
fe of Shirō Emiya, an amateur mechanic who attends school called Homurabara Gakuen in Fuyuki City. Ten years ago, Shirō was caught in a massive fire hazard that incinerated his parents and consumed a large portion of the city; as he was dying, an enigmatic man discovers and treats him. This man, Kiritsugu Emiya, decides to adopt him, though the two maintain a distant relationship because of Kiritsugu's frequent departures from Fuyuki City. One moonlit night, Kiritsugu and Shirō have a discussion outside of their home, and Shirō discovers a fact about his father that Kiritsugu was actually a mage.

A period piece, Jūshin Enbu features Taitou, a young man who hates the empire that rules at the time, with his sister Laila as they learn of a mysterious power Taitou holds, unbeknownst to him. Taitou is the incarnation of a mysterious star that grants him a huge amount of power that he has yet to fully master. Joining them is Ryuukou, who has power similar to Taitou, just more honed.
After Taitou's coming of age ceremony, which required him being beaten by Ryuukou, he is given the Kenkaranpu, described as a conqueror's sword, which Taitou is not even capable of drawing. Soon after, he and Laila are greeted by a man named Shimei, who wanted to take the sword. After a quick exchange of blows, Shimei explains the source of Taitou's power, the star Hagun, one of the most powerful Hokushin-Tenkun. When Shimei uses his own sword's power to cause Laila to stop breathing, Taitou becomes so angry he releases Hagun's power, draws Kenkaranpu and pins Shimei to the wall by throwing the sword through his stomach. He then turns to Ryuukou and attacks.
Despite his best efforts, Ryuukou could not overcome Hagun's power. It was only a resuscitated Laila's intervention (along with a nasty head butt) that brought Taitou to his senses. However, they all soon learn that Shimei had escaped with the sword.
At midnight, Taitou sneaks out to recover the sword. As he is leaving Ryuukou and Laila quickly join him on his journey.

Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. When Mai and her friends tell each other ghost stories they are interrupted twice first by the mysterious "male student" and second by a fellow classmate who warns them of how their ghost stories attract spirits.
While walking Mai sees the building where all of the ghost stories surrounds and decides to go in. As she is about to touch a camera in the middle of the room a man stops her and ends up injuring himself. Mai is then forced to work as a stand-in assistant for Lin who works for the "male student," who was hired to study the "paranormal" events happening at the school, that she nicknames "Naru" for his narcissistic attitude. Naru owns a paranormal investigation company SPR and eventually earns a part-time job at SPR after assisting with the first case. Eventually the more involved Mai becomes with Naru the more she learns about herself and her feelings towards him.
Along with Shibuya's assistant, Lin, the SPR also finds itself assisted by various spirit mediums and exorcists.
The anime has already ended its run. Many fans have asked for a second season, as of now there have been no firm confirmation, although some fans believe that a possibility of a return for a second season to be around this fall (but since the anime ended around March, it is still unsure). The manga is still ongoing, hence beliefs that there could be a possibility of a second season and the author being quoted as saying that she is currently working on a girl's horror story that she began years ago (she stopped writing "Ghost Hunt," the novels, in 1994).

Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
Yotsuya Kaidan
"Yotsuya Kaidan" is a retelling of the classic Japanese ghost story, written by the 18th century kabuki playwright Tsuruya Nanboku.
In the anime, Nanboku himself becomes the narrator. Tamiya Iemon is a ronin samurai who marries a beautiful woman named Oiwa. Oiwa is happy with her married life and the birth of their child, but Iemon feels the burden of their poverty.
In return for the promise of a job by a rich man, Iemon promises to marry the man's daughter and conspires to murder his own wife. A servant is ordered by the rich man's daughter to poison Oiwa's food; the toxin permanently disfigures Oiwa's face.
Iemon then orders his servant to kill her after having his way with her. Oiwa commits suicide after coming to know of Iemon's treachery. The servant is also killed, and along with the dead Oiwa, is nailed to a piece of wooden board and tossed into the river.
After Oiwa's death, Iemon marries the rich man's daughter, as promised. But Oiwa's vengeful spirit could not rest in peace, and she lays a curse on everyone involved with her demise. One by one, Oiwa's enemies die a horrible death, including the rich man and his daughter, and Iemon is plagued by visions of Oiwa's ghost. The character designs for this arc were done by Yoshitaka Amano.
Tenshu Monogatari
This arc is based on a play of the same name by Kyoka Izumi that tells the story of a forbidden love between a god and a human. In medieval Japan, Himekawa Zushonosuke is a falconer who is sent by his master Lord Harima to retrieve a precious falcon named Kojiro.
Zushonosuke's search is initially fruitless, though it leads him to a chance encounter with a beautiful woman bathing in a lake. Zushonosuke more or less falls in love with her at first sight.
When news reaches Lord Harima that the falcon has in fact fled to the castle keep of Shirasagi-jo, Zushonosuke is ordered there to bring the falcon back.
Accompanied by two friendly demons, Zushonosuke makes his way to Shirasagi-jo, which is rumored to be inhabited by beings called Wasuregami (Forgotten Gods). At the castle, Zushonosuke is surprised to find the same beautiful woman he encountered before, who introduces herself as Tomihime (Princess Tomi), beginning their forbidden romance.
The character designs for this arc were done by Yasuhiro Nakura who also did character designs for the anime film Metropolis and worked on Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.
Bake Neko
In the Edo period, a granddaughter of the master of a samurai family was planning to marry.
However, at the moment they were to celebrate the wedding, she was killed miserably. A traveling medicine-seller said it was the work of a bakeneko, or cat monster. As if prophesied by his words, the other members of the family began to be killed, one after another.
The medicine seller claims to have the means to destroy the bakeneko, but to do so, he must know not only the monster's form but the truth about what it wants and the reason for its appearance. That was when the family's dark secrets begin to surface.
The character designs for this arc were done by animator Takeshi Hashimoto, who is best known for his animations in the anime films Ghost in the Shell and X.

Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
The world of the humans and the world of the demons (youkai) have overlapped one another, leaving humans to walk the streets of life as they normally would, while demons walk, hidden from the naked eye, down the very same streets. A young-looking woman named Yurine, and her servant Karas, have long maintained order and balance between the overlapped worlds, ultimately keeping the demons from interrupting the lives of humans. However, humans have come to forget and jest at the existence of demons, and no longer understand the privilege it is to live without fear. Disgusted by this arrogance, an old Karas turns his back on the laws he had once upheld, and takes the form of a human named Eko, while creating an army of Mikura, or mechanized demons, to ready an attack on the human race.
A young man named Otoha inherits the powers of the Karas and takes his place at the side of Yurine, who claims that his soul called out for her while he lived the life of a human. They live in the world of the demons. It is now up to Otoha to prove himself as a Karas, and restore the balance that Eko threatens to upset.
Meanwhile, a superstitious police officer named Sagisaka and his rational new recruit, Kure, follow the trail of the murders dealt by Eko's Mikura, as well as the trail of a good demon turned human named Nue. The prophecy unfolds from here...

The series is set in the year 2307 AD of the Gregorian calendar. During this time, fossil fuels became exhausted and the distribution of fuels became imbalanced. Humanity must rely on an array of solar power generation systems orbiting the Earth, and supported by three orbital elevators, each one pertaining to one of the three "major powers" on the planet.
The Global Economic Union, comprising the Organization of American States, Australasia, and Japan, control the elevator located in South America. The Human Reform Alliance, comprising China, India, Russia east to the Urals, Mongolia, South East Asia including Papua New Guinea, the Korean Peninsula, Taiwan, and Sri Lanka, control the elevator built in the Pacific Ocean. Europe's Advanced European Union (AEU), comprised of the European Union, controls an elevator built in the middle of the African continent.
With this infinite source of energy benefiting only the major powers and their allies, constant warfare around the globe for fuels and energy lead to the formation of a private military organization, called Celestial Being, dedicated to eradicating war with the use of four humanoid machines called Gundams.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 follows four mobile suit pilots termed Gundam Meisters, sided with Celestial Being. The protagonist is 16-year old Setsuna F. Seiei, a quiet, taciturn young man who grew up in a war-torn Kurdish Republic in the Middle East, and a Gundam Meister for two years. He pilots the GN-001 Gundam Exia, a high mobility mobile suit effective in melee combat.

This episode begins with Usui Kagerou lamenting about how he never gets noticed by anyone, when he nearly gets run over by a truck who does not notice him. He runs into Nozomu in the shadows, who begins to talk about how some people are destined to be overshadowed by others, no matter how hard they work. After several humorous examples to illustrate his point, Kafuka brings up the merits of being in the shadows. Meanwhile, Usui continues to be unnoticed by everyone. The second part of the episode has the class undergo criticism training. A strange man enters the class room and begins to launch various insults at the students. Usui continues to be ignored until a divine wind blows away his hair, revealing his bald head and allowing everyone in the class to see him. He fears that people in the class will begin mocking him, but Kafuka suggests that Chie insults him instead, which he seems to enjoy. The episode ends in a parody of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, with various people attacking Nozomu while he is in the shower.

Spoiler Warning!! [+/-] Show/Hide Synopsis...
Yuji Sakai, a high school student, expected his very normal life to last forever. However, this expectation is quickly shattered one day while on his way home.
The world suddenly freezes in time, leaving Yuji to watch in horror as blue flames engulf the people around him. Soon a monster resembling a large doll appears and begins sucking the flames into its mouth, until it notices Yuji. Surprised with Yuji's insusceptibility to the time-stop, it jumps with glee.
Just as the monster prepares to consume Yuji, a sword-wielding girl in black attire with flaming red eyes and hair that burns like embers appears, swiftly and confidently destroys the monster, before noticing Yuji moving freely. The girl calls herself a "Flame Haze" who hunts the "Denizens of the Crimson Realm" and the "Rinne" they send to do their bidding. When Yuji notices a blue flame in his chest, the Flame Haze tells him that the "real" Yuji died some time ago, and that he is a "Torch", a temporary replacement for erased humans. Torches take on the forms of those erased persons, but after a period of time, they will vanish from existence and the memories of the living. Unfazed by his apparent death, Yuji befriends the strange girl and names her "Shana" after her sword. Expecting Yuji to slowly fade away like all other Torches do, Shana is surprised to find that Yuji is not a normal Torch, but instead a special kind called a "Mystes": he has a treasure inside him, known as a "Hougu", a device possessing special abilities of sorts, and an extremely powerful and valuable one at that. Shana resolves to protect Yuji from the Denizens, who would use the treasure to disrupt the balance of the world, and Yuji decides to join Shana in her fight.
Shana's fight is actually a long-standing struggle between the Lords and Denizens of the Crimson Realm. The Denizens steal Power of Existence, the energy that forms the basis of the world, from living people and utilize it for their own selfish ambitions. Lords are the mortal enemies of Denizens, and utilize Flame Hazes to attempt to retain balance. Thus, the Flame Hazes create Torches in the image of the dead in order to relieve the strain on reality resulting from the actions of the Denizens.
During their time together both Shana and Yuji begin to realize that their affection for each other is more than just friends. During Shana's numerous battles with the Flame Haze she has come to realize that whenever Yuji is close and cares about her, her powers increase, thus awakening the Flame inside her.
